Description
WIDTH="400" HEIGHT="55" NAME="aswtagline" ALIGN="middle" TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"> Northwood Aqua Opalescent Diamond Point carnival glass vase. Circa Early 1900's. Magnificent is the only word to describe this vase. Try to find one better than this.. I am calling this aqua opalescent. But I do have to say it sure looks more like sapphire opalescence to me. You can decide for yourself. I see they made a rare sapphire. I don't see a listing for sapphire opalescent. Aas we all know that really doesn't mean there aren't any out there. It is just dripping in creamy milky opalescence from the top to the bottom of the vase. How often do you see that? If you look at the bottom of the vase you will see it is heavy with opalescence all the way down to the bottom. The iridescent colors are stunning. Another PLUS.. You usually don't see this wonderful colorful iridescence on these rare vase's. Condition on this is as close to mint as can be. A 10 +++ For sure. No chips, cracks or repairs. No wear to the finish. You will see reflection in some pictures. It is Not wear. Base is excellent. Sits flat and even. This is one of the best Aqua Opal carnival glass I have ever seen. The top opening has the 12 flame points that are in perfect damage or flaw free condition Size is app. 9-1/2" tall. Base is app. 3-3/8". The top width is app. 4-1/4". The new Carnival Glass 11th edition by Mike Carwile list aqua Opal at $1300.00. For the new comer to carnival glass that references prices using a popular website. Keep in mind that does not list quality or condition and is not always updated. I am sure that is quite a chore to keep up with. That also does not list ebay auction slaes. There was a Aqua Opal Diamond Point vase sold a few months back at the ICGA carnival glass auction that sold for app. twice the amount listed. The Mordini Carnival Glass reference book comes out the first part of the year and list every piece sold at live Carnival Glass auctions. It also comments if a item has damage or flaws. This is a Excellent accurate guide. This is from a private collection and has been well taken care through the years. This is so spectacular, It shows so well no matter what the background or lighting. I have included very large pictures all taken outdoors in natural light . No altering.. I wanted you to see the gorgeous color in different settings. You should be able to see all you need. If not please don't hesitate to ask. It may be a bit more trouble for me to size the larger pictures. I feel that the buyer needs to see the glass in as close to it's natural size as possible. I feel taking pictures outdoors also shows true color. That way you know what you are getting. I am not trying to hide anything and want to show all I can. . Mfg. comments.. Nothing out of the ordinary.. Simply a Superb Vase.. Please check out all of my carnival glass. I have some very nice exceptional color and some hard to find to scarce items in my ebay store. I am a collector of Red carnival glass. I am always looking to buy or swap. My photos are edited on a calibrated monitor huey pro for accurate color rendition. This merely insures that I am describing colors as accurately as possible. As you read my description. Please note. I do my best to tell all there is to tell no matter how minor. I also use large size pictures. Sometimes they can make a tiny minor flaw look bigger or worse than it really is. As you can see by my feedback, almost 1/3 of my customers are repeat buyers. I also sell only vintage carnival glass. The majority of my antique carnival glass that I sell comes from the private collection of carnival glass collectors. I spend a great deal of time and travel to buy some of the best examples out there. You can be assured that the glass you buy from me has been well taken care of through the years. *************** INSURANCE IS REQUIRED . ************* ****PLEASE SEE MY OTHER AUCTIONS FOR LOTS MORE CARNIVAL.**** Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions BEFORE the end of the auction. BEFORE THE END OF THE AUCTION. I usually include several photos so you can see ALL of the item I do not alter colors. I usually will explain inside or outside pictures as we know that can make a big difference in the colors.…Please be aware that vintage items that have been displayed or used for long periods of time will seldom, if ever, be in mint condition. Glassware…. especially vintage, will commonly have manufacturing faults such as air bubbles, mold, tool marks, straw lines ash inside glass, wear on the base, etc. If an item has faults like damage beyond normal age wear or manufacturing faults, I will explain this in the item description.
