Description For Auction I have an outstanding piece of Art Glass made by the Union Glass Company (Kew Blas) of Somerville, Mass (1893-1927). The Vase is called a "Shade Vase" and is similar in shape to Steuben's Shade Vases of the same era. The Vase stands 5 5/16" Tall and is 5 1/4" in diameter at the Mouth. The Pattern is Called "Snakeskin" and the colors are just outstanding. The Green Gold Iridescent with a hints of Fuchsia along the bottom makes this the nicest Shade Vase I have ever owned. When you look inside the Vase it is on Fire with Great Iridescence. The Blue, Purple, Fuchsia is more than Alive with Color. When I first saw this piece I thought it was a Quezal Shade as the Pattern looks extremely Similar to theirs. I kind of wish it was a Quezal Snakeskin Pattern Shade as they bring much more money than what I am asking for this wonderful shade Vase. The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There are a few air bubbles in the glass and this was in the making. The Vase is signed with the wide etched "KEW-BLAS signature mark. Employee William Blake  produced a range of art glass called Kew Blas, which was an anagram of his name. He did this during his employment with The Union Glass Company of Somerville, Mass. This Shade Vase is Much Rarer than Kew Blas's contemporaries of the day. It rivals the Quality of LCT Tiffany Favrile.
