17 pc Royal China 5186/ national brotherhood of pottery Start Price USD 50.00 Current Price USD 50.00 Time Left 7 days 13 hours 9 minutes Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Monday, November 17, 2008 End Time Friday, January 16, 2009 Location Barkhamsted, CT See more about '17 pc Royal China 5186/ national brotherhood of pottery' Description   This Bid is for a 17 piece set of 22K leafed Royal China # 5186 that needs a good home!   1 lrg round veg bowl, 1 coupe soup bowl, 6 coupe cereal bowls, 1 dinner plate, 3 saucers, 1 mini platter, 1 large round handled platter, 1 covered veg dish, 1 sugar & 1 creamer.   ∞ This set is used and fairly old,  per research I’d estimate approx 20-30 years.   ∞  The biggest tragedy with this set is the large platter has spidering in the glazing which has lead to some light brown discoloration of the china towards the center, the pattern coloration however is still good. My mother had a similar issue with a piece of her china and found that soaking it in diluted bleach took away the discoloration but left the color of the pattern intact. I however was too nervous to try that on this.   ∞  Some of these pieces have small chips on the sides & spidering in the glaze of the patter, others are in good condition. The covered veggie dish's overall condition is good, it has some “flea bites” the gold detail has, for its age, minimal wear on the handles. The sugar and creamer have some wear on their handles as well. Overall, to my suprise, the gold leafing is in very good condition for most of these pieces and show minimal wear.
