116-PCE SET FOR 12+ OF NORITAKE PAT 71225 "ZENDA" CHINA Start Price USD 1,495.00 Current Price USD 1,495.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Saturday, November 22, 2008 End Time Monday, December 22, 2008 Location Strum, Wisconsin See more about '116-PCE SET FOR 12+ OF NORITAKE PAT 71225 "ZENDA" CHINA' Description HI!  Today I'm Listing a RARE 116-PIECE SET OF NORITAKE PATTERN #71225 "ZENDA" FINE CHINA.  According to my book on marks the set was made between 1921-1924.CONDITION:  The set ranges from very lightly used to unused.  The edges of the pieces have about 70% -100% of full gold on them.DESCRIPTION:  The main elements of the design are pink roses and blue scrolls (see the close-up of a section of the  pattern).  For some reason only the photo of the creamer & sugar has reflections from my lights - please excuse them.  Most computers render the colors quite differently so I will say that the enclosed lattice work that runs around the outside edge of the pieces is a subtle yellow and is enclosed by a light blue line on each side.  The square flower spacers that equally divide the lattice match the fine blue lines.  The leaves are a pale green.  The scrolls are a light blue and the flowers centered in the scrolls are pink.  The flowers crowded in between the top edges of the scrolls, leaves and the lattice border are white.  The Greek key inside border that attach to the ends of the scrolls are also light blue.  COMMENTS:  This set was purchased 25-years ago at a wealthy estate sale in Sparta, Wisconsin and has been part of my collection since then.  I've owned many sets of vintage Noritake, but this is one of the most beautiful patterns that I've ever offered.HERE IS A LIST OF THE PIECES INCLUDED:Nineteen Cups (2" tall & 3 5/8" across the top)Twenty-Six 5 1/2" SaucersTwenty 9 3/8" Small Dinner PlatesFourteen 7 5/8" Salad/Dessert platesNineteen 5 1/4" Fruit/Sauce BowlsTen 6 3/8" Bread & Butter PlatesOne Creamer (3" tall, 10 Oz.)One Covered Sugar Bowl (chip on the top outside edge)Two Handled 10 3/8" Oval Vegetable BowlsOne 11 3/4" Oval Serving PlatterOne 13 3/4" Oval serving PlatterOne 16" Oval Serving PlatterOne Gravy Boat W/Attached Under-plateI checked with a large matching service and they had very few pieces.  I would guess that finding a set this large and in this condition would be next to impossible?IMPORTANT NOTE!
